The GSF1200 really does look best in black, doesn’t it?

I’m grateful that Suzuki’s frame color is different from the body color.
A black frame is the safest bet, I think.

This Yoshimura exhaust was pretty aggressive back then, I have to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now all that’s left is to get the inspection and we’re done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Next up should be checking and adjusting the oil level to finish.
Everything was supposed to be done by noon, but the oil level adjustment ended up taking the whole morning. You have to enjoy the puzzle-solving or you’ll go crazy.

We hit a mystery problem where cylinders #3 and #4 wouldn’t respond to oil level adjustment. What on earth?
We have plenty of BST parts lying around, so when we swapped the float with our used good condition unit, it worked normally, but when we put the original back, it malfunctioned.

No matter how much we looked or measured, we couldn’t figure out where the standard was.
We ended up swapping it over to the used good condition unit and called it done for now. This old BST carburettor still has its quirks.
The float design is just too flawed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also replaced the intake manifold!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We went with ELF MOTO4 RACE 10W-60 for the engine oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Replacing the drain bolt occasionally feels great. It’s got a magnet!
I think the original steel is still the safest bet.

I’m definitely not using aluminum!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We replaced the spark plug with a JR8B. (Same as before.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since there’s a possibility of gasoline spraying out, we cover it with a rag and crank it.
We get the oil circulating properly for a safe start!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We adjusted the synchronization after the engine started.

Long-dormant bikes are smoky and the exhaust smells of rotten gasoline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re putting in a new battery, so we’ll do the initial charge.

Sticking double-sided foam (leftover Shorai) under the terminal nut makes terminal attachment and removal dramatically easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fluid was relatively clean.
We cut a float and installed it on the clutch side. (Better serviceability!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fuel petcock is brand new as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an unexpected twist, we went with a genuine Mikuni float valve this time.
New parts really are great!

There are some reproduction parts with questionable dimensions, so please be careful.

After that, we just need to get the inspection and we’re done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
