When I start researching something, I get a little sidetracked… then quite a bit sidetracked.

Oh! Maybe this is genius? I think to myself and start clicking and searching.
In the end, I spend all that time and still don’t solve it.

It’s not that I care if the parts are expensive… I just have a frugal streak.
When you’re researching part compatibility like this, you have to study all sorts of things\u2014dimensions, tolerances, and more.

I’m not just punching in part numbers, ordering, and swapping things in when they arrive, you know. (Just saying!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This is an important block.
It wears too, but there’s no part number for it. By the way, reproductions are sold overseas. Never bought one though… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The corner at the bottom wears down and eventually becomes paper-thin.
This one was in good condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The O-ring below the block is available for the GSF1200.
If you have a GSX-R model, use this one: 13278-47090. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s designed to fit in there with a snap.
If this seal fails, the carb\u2014which is already pretty sloppy\u2014becomes even sloppier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The starter valve is surprisingly affordable, and I still miss the old Suzuki prices… it’s really tough these days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fuel passage seals should be replaced after a certain amount of time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If someone says the four-carb set is fine, I won’t argue… but I’m not responsible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diaphragm was in good condition too.

Still, all the carburettor parts are slightly sticky and smell like rotten gasoline. I really don’t want to deal with a clogged carb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was surprised how clogged the starter passage in the float assembly got. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So the lower end\u2014or is it the upper end?\u2014is complete.

When things get clogged, I use this to drill them out. The build is a bit cheap, but inexpensive sets are usually too thick and have sizes you never use.
