For example,
let’s say a motorcycle comes in for an oil change after 5,000 km and about a year have passed since the last maintenance.
At that time, it’s reassuring to also check various parts like chain slack, oil depletion, tire pressure, and so on.
I think this might be one of the benefits of taking your bike to a shop for an oil change.

We can also check things like whether the pads have remaining thickness, whether the brake feel is good, whether the lever action isn’t too heavy, and other minor details during an oil change\u2014or we might notice them.

Maybe discovering some problem is something that happens in these unexpected moments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While looking over the whole motorcycle like that,
we sometimes notice things like “Oh, this bolt has come loose here.”

Finding it is pretty awkward for us too, to be honest.
But it’s important to check.

\u25cf If the owner removed it themselves, we tell them to make sure to check it.
\u25cf If only I removed it, I need to reflect and figure out why it came loose and take measures to prevent it. If it’s a forgotten tightening, that’s a real problem.
\u25cf If someone else removed it somewhere, we take a positive approach and say how lucky it was that we could land safely in the pit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three of those points above are human error.
I’ve never met or heard of anyone in this motorcycle industry who hasn’t made mistakes, big or small. Even the most talented people can make them.

Hearing this shouldn’t make you think “Oh, mistakes are okay,” but rather keep a mindset of learning from others’ mistakes, refining both your skills and spirit every day, and not holding others’ mistakes against them. (If it’s me, I reflect and take measures.)

These days it’s easy to “put things aside ~ put things aside ~” when it comes to your own mistakes, so I’m working on cultivating a more tolerant mindset every day. (^^\u266a
