What a striking presence! … Yeah, it’s cool. GSX-R750RK.

You don’t see them much these days.
Well, you haven’t seen them in a while anyway… it’s a limited edition.

This is just my impression, but about ten years ago there were still plenty of used ones around and demand wasn’t that high. Before you knew it, all kinds of bikes shot up in price.

My sense of the market hasn’t kept up, so I’m often in culture shock.
The Z750FX, for instance… back then it was the bike people who couldn’t afford an MK2 would buy because it was cheap. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The motorcycle industry is in its fifth generation too, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

So the rebound wasn’t working, which worried me a bit… but the clicks were fine. (Phew!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It hasn’t been ridden much, but some time has passed, and the oil had a pretty strong smell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let’s scrub this cylindrical object with a pipe brush.
I’m a fan of Vikan brushes. I checked my purchase history and it was 2015.

These brushes don’t flinch even in solvent wash\u2014they’re amazing.
You can pick the color and diameter, which is perfect. Vikan Pipe Cleaner <\/a> If you have each size, they come in handy for all sorts of things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can buy the tip and rod separately and use them together… but they’re too long. <\/a>
I do have one, but I only use it for fork work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GSX-R750RK’s peculiar oil lock that won’t come out.
Usually the Vikan brush takes care of it, but… one side just won’t budge.
So I’ll make a quick tool for this\u2014a -1\/100 tolerance fit that slides smoothly into the oil lock and then I’ll tap it out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that, it came right off (‘\u03c9’)\u30ce <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One side’s oil lock color is quite different. Things are moving right along. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inner tube was previously hardened by Toyo, so it was satisfyingly “zero.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I smoothly cleaned the cylinder rod threads and the oil lock too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After cleaning, air blow and wipe, then reassemble.
Forks from this era have a simple design, which is really nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I went with SKF KIT-43S Green for the fork seals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After stroking the rod, pull a vacuum to remove any fine air.
I’m hoping both sides end up in the same condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m a fan of Motion Pro’s fork seal driver. <\/a>

The color, usability, and price are all just right. The design is sleek and you can really grow attached to the tool. The lock ring has an interesting structure\u2014it’s really educational. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When installing the fork seal, I used to wrap something around it… but
lately it’s incredibly convenient. This is also Motion Pro’s tool\u2014the “Fork Seal Bullet.” Once you buy one, you can use it for a long time. It’s a really worthwhile item. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
