The SR400 has a good reputation as a bike, but…

it’s got that older-brother vibe, you know? The whole squarecan tuning scene (ancient history now) had its moment in the sun, and I still can’t shake the image of all those crazy customizations running rampant back then.

When someone says “SR400,” I can’t help but ask… “Are you sure that’s okay?” You know, like, what kind of custom work has it had?
Lately we’ve been pretty cautious with new customers and haven’t been taking on many jobs.

Here we go\u2014time for a tire change.

We went with TT100GP this time. It’s a good idea to replace the rim tape and tube at the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The axle shaft runout is no problem.
The wheel bearings look good too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spoke wheels get dirty on the inside, so let’s make sure to clean them up properly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The caliper was dirty, but it operates fine.
We also replaced the brake fluid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owner said they just replaced the battery.
Well, it’s got voltage, but just to be safe, let’s give it a good charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hmm, the main fuse is blown…
But when I replace it, it doesn’t blow again. Why?

Lately there’s been nothing but weird gremlins, and I’m getting pretty fed up with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The noise level is… totally out of spec. Stuffing won’t kill the sound…

Since there’s no way around it, I made a 38-54-60.5 adapter to get it to pass.

I wonder if people who can’t do this kind of work make more money? That’s what I think about every day.
