You know how it is with Amazon\u2014cheap stuff often comes with problems, doesn’t it?


I’d say there’s about a 47.9% chance I end up thinking, “Well, that figures…” (nationwide average, maybe?).

First up, what I’d call a Daytona classic (or so I like to think).

Back when I was young, we’d line up LEDs from the electronics shop.

But at the time, we thought that was…
“so cool.” Yet I never imagined they’d become this compact. Really, truly never.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just before this came out, I was already amazed by things likeMotogadget Motosign Mini<\/a>and such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I offset it slightly to get visual cohesion and to clear the bolt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I try to avoid using cable ties and double-sided tape for mounting things.
The reasons are:
\u2022 Removal is a hassle (peeling off the adhesive)
\u2022 Positioning is tricky (with cable ties)

If a part breaks or needs maintenance, I want to pop it off and snap it back on smoothly\u2014that feels good.

So I wanted it light and simple, which is why I used push rivets to secure it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that’s how the installation is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next…
The VFR seems to have a pretty weak charging system, in my experience.
So I decided to install a voltmeter just to be safe\u2014now to find the right spot. Keep it simple as possible.

Since I don’t like adding more parts, I’ll weld these together to improve serviceability a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It fits snugly into the sponge hole of the meter mount and is secured with a bolt and nut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The voltmeter I’m using is a trusted
Daytona AQUAPROVA Motorcycle Voltmeter\u2014Digital, Waterproof, Backlit, Compact Volt Meter 92386<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s really handy when you just want to check the voltage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

after much deliberation, this is what I came up with. I have a feeling it’s going to be really useful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My go-to fuse box38200-KFG-010 Honda Fuse Box (Mini Blade)<\/em><\/a>
This fuse box mounting is a bit of a pain\u2014it’s doable, but the stock method is “too much hassle!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I can convert it to studs, adapting it becomes much easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I haven’t swapped them in yet, but the fuses fit neatly now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
