This is a famous bike from Atsugi.
The Impulse fairing is smartly installed and looks stock-like, which is nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re buying an oil-cooled 1200, I think the Inazuma is the way to go.
GSF1200 = circuit, gymkhana, mountain passes, extreme = worn out
Bandit 1200 = strong touring elements, high mileage
GS1200SS = ended up being ridiculously expensive. . . .
How about it? Huh? The Inazuma? Well, it’s more like a gentle dad kind of vibe.

So when I was working on it this time,
I thought to myself, “Wow, it went surprisingly smoothly this time?” . . . .

The washing and cleaning were quick, and everything went smoothly and crisply.
The inside of what I removed was clean, and the fine details were handled carefully.
After all, the parts are Italian-made, so it’s nice to see it in good condition for the next person to work on it\u2014that’s something I strive for every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll replace the generator damper. It has good elasticity and seems to be in pretty good condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We seal grease into the damper and assemble it.

Let’s replace the engine damper too. We’ll use the convenient later-model type.

Gravel tends to accumulate in the case, so cleaning is essential.
Applying grease to the damper grooves seems to help prevent case wear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When this washer gets crushed, oil starts seeping out.
For example, even if you tighten the fastening bolt more because oil is leaking, the leak won’t stop because the bolt has a stepped shank, so please be careful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The valve clearance wasn’t off by much. Also, the cam is so clean I’d think it’s brand new, so we can feel confident about the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This must be a bike with really solid oil maintenance. That’s reassuring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head cover oil passages tend to leak a bit, so instead of using the stock aluminum gasket, I use a copper gasket.
*This prevents crushing, shrinking, and torque loss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
