I always think about this…
I can’t shake the feeling that there are “traps” lurking along the path of the requested work. Am I the only one?

Once I start thinking about it, I want to get it clean, so I polished the carburettor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve found some good media lately.

If you’re struggling with baking soda media, EZ Blast media delivers a pretty nice texture. <\/a>
Plus, while standard baking soda particle size is around 100 \u03bcm, MPS averages 0.2 mm\u2014super coarse.
Because of that, it doesn’t dissolve quickly in water, so it lasts quite well and we’re grateful for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We use both dry and wet methods to finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assembled it smoothly… and I have to say, the carburettor is definitely Keihin… I feel it deeply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, I wanted to test something this time, so I assembled it once.
When I took it for a test ride, the product delivered surprising performance, so I immediately removed it and switched back to stock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was surprised that no issues came up… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I balanced the carburetors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, normally it’s like this… running really smoothly… yeah, the original is the best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The throttle feel is really uncomfortable.
It’s a common issue with aftermarket holders\u2014they don’t have a stopper.

When you close the throttle, it should snap against a solid stopper. Without one, you have to balance the pull and return to adjust throttle play,
which makes the throttle feel spongy when closed and ruins the feel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A split-top-and-bottom holder is best for serviceability and looks cleanest.
Various thin-profile models are sold, but if you’re choosing, go with split top and bottom.
For throttle cables, avoid ones with mid-span adjusters (adjustable play at the midpoint).
Throttle cable play adjustment = the difference between outer and inner cable length.
When there are many adjustment points, the total outer cable length keeps growing, which often causes cable routing problems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caliper cleaning, fluid replacement, chain adjustment\/lubrication, side stand adjustment\/lubrication, fork rust prevention\/lubrication, and battery charging done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This radiator is definitely\u2014or rather, absolutely\u2014excellent. <\/a>
The GPZ900R tends to run its fan constantly even when idling in slightly cool weather.
Today it was just over 20 degrees, and even sitting at red lights, the fan barely came on.
It only ran once when I got back to the shop, so I think it’s quite effective.
