A GSX1000S fully equipped with dry carbon and Yoshimura parts.

The banana frame is real steel tubing too… We’ll replace the rear disc and caliper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

First, we’ll install aluminum pistons in the GS1200SS rear caliper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a new caliper, but we won’t use the seals that came with it\u2014we’ll use brand new ones instead.

The OEM pads came with pad shims… kind of like deadstock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They brought it in with an A+B=as-is setup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One spot was stubborn, and when I worked at it, the helicoil started to come out…
I had a bad feeling about it, but we got lucky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The compatibility between helicoils and thread locker is very tricky. Should I apply thread locker directly to the helicoil itself?

I use helicoils without the slot.

We converted the bolt diameter from 10\u03c6 to 8\u03c6 and made it with a flange since the width didn’t match.
The material is SUS304. With this thin wall, it might get crushed even at 17 or 75, so just to be safe… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wrapped up the installation with a slight trim.
