We’ve cleared up a bit of space, so we’ll disassemble the fork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The old inverted fork structure is refreshingly simple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oil, despite being quite used, is surprisingly clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inner race shows no runout. Some light surface rust is starting to develop.
This needs attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we work the rod in and out, pull a vacuum, adjust the oil level, and we’re done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The calipers are nicely dirty. The right caliper’s 30mm piston is a bit stiff, but it’s within acceptable range, so we reused it this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fork oil had gotten on the rotor as well. We degreased it, honed the surface, and got everything ready for the new pads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
