We’ll swap out the front stand for a frame stand.

Stem bearing lubrication and maintenance is surprisingly labor-intensive. Without a frame stand…
It would be nice if we could use a chain block to lift it, but that’s tough when you’re renting a shop space. We’ve made offset feet, so they clear things nicely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since an expert is doing the work, it’s not necessary, but I did a quick check just to be safe. (No issues) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I noticed one of them was just a washer…
Hmm, what to do… It seemed like a hassle to order, so I made the missing one out of SUS304 myself. I also replaced the lock nut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collar was looking a bit tired, so I polished it and chamfered the edge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just to be safe, I checked both front and rear axle shafts (no issues) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s reassuring to check that it slides in smoothly on its own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s like “an ounce of prevention”\u2014it’s good to replace OEM parts while they’re still working. Once you replace them once, you shouldn’t have to worry about it again.

We’ll also clean and maintain the speedometer gear and cable.
I think the meter gear probably won’t come out anymore… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s looking pretty close to original, which is nice.

The caliper bolts are on order for now.
The brake hose from before fits perfectly! We’re really grateful for that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s subtle, but using Honda’s racing-style \u03b2 pins improves both the look and serviceability. If I get time, I’ll introduce them\u2014though I think I’ve shown them before.

These cost less than 100 yen… Classic Honda!
