For its year, there wasn’t much corrosion at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Suzuki, the piston kit isn’t expensive, so it’s a good deal to replace them as a set. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We put it in a bag inside a stainless steel container and skeleton it in there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s always gross to look at. There’s no point dwelling on the peeling, so we’ll leave it and move on to other work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll polish the hub master too, so we heat it up and remove the bearings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They come out by hand, or if you flip it over they just slide out = gentle on the hub.

I wish all bearings came out like this.
Conversely, I wonder if they’d come out if we shrunk them with liquid nitrogen? <\/p> The cost and risk probably don’t make it worth it though.\n\n\n\n

We’re going to paint this one, so we use a coarse shot = the paint should grip well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We assemble the caliper seals with CCI MR20. <\/a>

It’s a dream lubricant that grease enthusiasts should experience at least once.
It’s like, “Wait, did I get better at caliper OH?” because the piston slides in so smoothly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s nice when care shows through in the places you can’t see.

Nothing is leaking, but the hub seal is gripping so tight it’s stiff.
The iron collar is wearing down from it, so you can imagine how much pressure there is.

It’s a good idea to rough it up a bit beforehand. Rubber stones work surprisingly well for this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This hub… it’s really thin, isn’t it?
