The Z750RS has become RCM before we knew it!

This is probably how people wanted to customize bikes back in the 20th century heyday.
Machining wasn’t as common back then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 20th century was the heyday of repurposing parts and a storm of modifications. Now in the 21st century, aftermarket parts are saturated and customization is shifting toward bolt-on parts. (Though there’s still some fabrication involved.)

Everything looks clean and tough now. This time we’re doing a titanium silencer and ETC bracket fabrication.

Some kind of titanium silencer.

Hmm, it’s got quite a bit of weight to it… I wonder if it’s really titanium.
Someone said, “The wool must be packed in there pretty tight,” which is a positive way to look at it\u2014pretty great! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I suspect the shell is titanium and the inside is all stainless steel. High-end silencers probably have titanium perforated tubes too. (Pants are Italian-made heart = unseen aesthetics?) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can’t tell what brand it is from the outside anymore.

You can’t tell the difference without markings to authenticate it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offset by +6mm and installation is complete.
The spring tension is shallow, so we’re currently ordering a replacement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seemed to respond well and I thought VERY GOOD! But then came a request to relocate it.

I really felt how particular bike enthusiasts can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one I made back then doesn’t work, so we made a new one.
Shearing, spot welding, and finished with gun coat!
You can’t get this subtle position with just one bend.

A spot welder is really super handy to have.
