It’s really rainy out there.

The forecast shows rain for most of next week too. The only things that suffer are the inspection and test ride.
I find that the benefit of being able to focus on work is enormous.

We’re making progress in that one-step-forward, five-steps-back kind of way.

Now then, we’ve taken in some inner tubes from stock that have heavy rust, so let me do a quick check.
We’re replacing the inner tubes, but this is a temporary installation setup.
I’m thinking it’ll probably leak pretty soon.

After the squishing sound, I did a thorough vacuum bleed to get all the air out.
Then comes the oil level adjustment. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Kawasaki OEM parts are outrageous.
Wait, didn’t the OEM lower bearing have an integrated seal?

Well, not really a big deal either way.

We’re going to use a Honda seal instead.

Basically, bearings are standard parts, so we just hunt down other models with the same lower bearing and order various ones.
This one’s a bit tricky, so I’m not going to share the part number. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Remove, install, check\u2014the standard routine. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Knowing how well the seal works also makes steering adjustment easier down the road.

If you adjust using only steering action, you might end up shaking later, so please be careful. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We’re using a Suzuki upper seal. I think it was from a Bandit 1200 or something.

The dream clip-ons… surprisingly often they don’t just bolt on.

We have to avoid steering lock and contact before we can finally set up the position.
