Well, it’s true that this bike has over 200,000 km on the odometer.

The engine is on its third one, I think? And various other parts have been replaced too.

Since we’re replacing the harness this time, the original parts that remain are just these.

\u2022 Frame
That’s all that’s left.

We normally decline harness replacements.
But this time, since the owner has put 200,000 km on it and fuses keep blowing left and right, we took the job. Plus, they’ve been a regular customer.

* Honestly, our shop has been pretty overwhelmed lately. We’re basically turning away new customers.
We’ve had way too much work during this pandemic.

Please don’t refer friends or acquaintances either.

We’re operating with the stance that we’re happy to do inspections.
Really, you’d be better off finding a regular shop nearby.

I see. Yeah, it blows.

I shot video of it, so I’ll post that later. There were two causes.

\u2022 Main key 4-pin connector with intermittent disconnection
\u2022 Indicator lamp wiring rubbed and exposed

Harness replacement doesn’t move forward unless I’m in the mood, so I just ripped it all out at once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I checked all the old and new parts.

By the way, the Inazuma 1200 harness is discontinued. If you want to adapt one, try the Inazuma 400 harness.

This owner already has one from before. Nice foresight!
If you plan to keep the bike long-term, get it before it’s gone.

OEM parts do get discontinued. There are backorders too. Base prices keep going up.
Buying when you can gives you peace of mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was struck by how much rubbing there was. It made me think about how different usage patterns require different considerations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I secured it with braided tubing and cable ties. Looks good too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrapped it with acetate tape. <\/a>
Honestly, most harness tape out there peels off easily and the adhesive gets all sticky, so… yeah, that’s how it is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was worn down like this.

When the meter gets slightly dim, it’s from this rubbing short. Since the meter is floating, it probably causes a gradual short.

The backlight almost going out is probably from the main key intermittent disconnection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
