Kawasaki’s genuine parts are just too rugged.

I mean, are they serious? Even if they’re made by a subcontractor… really?

All these Ninja-style pipes are like this, aren’t they?

I wonder how they get so many wrinkles… It’s actually kind of amazing. I wish they’d at least put down newspaper? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s replace all the pipes and hoses that are still available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll replace the water pump oil seal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pump seal is pretty bad! If you blow air through the hole, the oil seal actually comes out pretty easily. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the rust is severe and the shaft area is extremely stiff, we decided to replace the pump assembly.

There’s so much to remove\u2014water cooling really is a lot of work. That’s what I’m thinking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll block off the passages that have already been removed.
Since working at the root would be risky, we went with the simple approach: cut, crush, and weld. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two are discontinued, so we’ll reuse them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gun coat and a fresh coat of paint. Reusing might actually look better than Kawasaki’s original finish, you know? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I can’t access it without removing the carburetor after all.
I ordered the pump today. Well, that’s it for now!
