These are typical sizes from that era. Rim widths like 1.85 and 2.15. <\/p>\r\n

When you let us know the tire’s manufacturing date, it’s like “No way, really?”
Then comes the joy of choosing tires the next day and beyond. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We removed the lever for cleaning and lubrication. If we clean off the stuck grease, it should operate a bit more smoothly. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There’s a reason for using lock nuts. I replace them almost every time. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The throttle area is a bit dry too. A little lubrication should help it operate smoothly. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The steering isn’t bad, but it’s not VERY GOOD either.
We’ll keep using it and address it when the time is right. <\/p>\r\n

I don’t think you should take everything apart just because you can. <\/p>\r\n

Prioritizing maintenance tasks might be more effective. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The axle shaft showed no bending issues.
A little occasional lubrication on the speedometer cable should help it last longer and operate better. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We cleaned the back of the fender and loosened the fender mounting to retighten it in a better-fitting position. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There’s a pretty solid outer dust boot… how do you even get it off? <\/p>\r\n

It turned out to be held on with a C-clip. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Often they’re in pretty sharp condition. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When all the parts are clean, you get that feeling of “Alright! Time to put it together!” <\/p>\r\n

When things are dirty, nobody wants to touch them. Having a clean workspace to disassemble in is important. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We also degreased the brake discs. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The right fork oil seal is out. <\/p>\r\n

If we do disassemble the fork, we’d need to replace the inner tube or re-plate it. <\/p>\r\n
