June is already here in a flash… what’s going on?

Normally we’d expect some Olympic buzz and a bit of quiet activity, but instead
there’s been such an influx of international visitors? With all the “Can you speak English?” moments <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and those kinds of mundane conversations happening?

You know? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, I don’t think we’ll ever go back to the way things were, so I think we need to work out new lifestyles and business approaches if we’re going to survive going forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I had a GoPro mounted and was riding all over the place, but…

you know, the classic bike shop problem?

The symptom doesn’t show up when the customer brings it to the shop… hmm?

Since there’s a history of the same issue before, I feel reassured too. First, let me measure the used sensor values. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since it’s hard to measure, I’m pulling the terminals from the connector. (It’s reliable, but watch out for shorts.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The values change from 1st to 6th gear. Just to be safe, I’ll check both old and new.

When measuring the old gear position, sometimes 3rd gear shows the value for 6th, or doesn’t show anything? It’s a bit fuzzy…

I figure if I can see the numbers, it’ll give me peace of mind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always think about the manual… it’s not very user-friendly, is it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gear position sensor is hidden deep behind the clutch… how inconsiderate! I think to myself.

It doesn’t seem very friendly to the sensor or the wiring either, but I guess there are reasons for everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ll replace it with a new one. Since I have to remove the fairing too, it’s a bit of a hassle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah, so it’s a slipper clutch… hmm. The rattling makes me a bit worried (no problem though). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for reverse assembly… “there’s a reason for every shape.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be careful with these conical washers too. The color is intense… what’s going on? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I gave it a light wash. (Before washing.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tighten to about 150 N\u22c5m, the instructions say. Tightening the clutch and sprocket nut always makes me nervous… is it just me? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I checked all the friction and steel plates. No problems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
