This inverted fork is really long… I’d say there’s about a 100% chance we can’t use the special fork compression tool.

Do a sloppy job and muddle through versus do it right and be ready for the future.
*Our shop’s machine tools exist for this reason. Custom work goes to the custom shops… (though we’ll do bolt-on customs for you!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The grease was applied well. The adjustment condition was honestly… not great.
There’s a possibility performance could improve, so we’re lucky!

By the way, this is a new bike. Well, since humans assemble these things, it can’t be helped.

Modern stem bearing press depths are extremely deep. If you just carelessly tap away, you’ll jam it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time it’s just adjustment and lubrication, so we’re reusing the bearings.
*Their condition is good. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neutech NC100 grease <\/a>is applied generously and we assemble it.

This grease is also really good for the chassis.
\u2022 It’s much softer than its listed consistency grade.
\u2022 It resists heat and doesn’t drip easily.
\u2022 It doesn’t dissolve easily even when washed with solvent.

In other words, it moves well and lasts long. You can also use it for bolt lubrication, and I think this one product is pretty good. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shaft and stem are both aluminum, so they’re really light!

It’s been a while since I’ve seen such a nice offset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since we can’t disassemble the fork, I painstakingly made an attachment.
By making it stepped, I think we can reduce the chance of accidents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bolt wasn’t fully threaded, so it wouldn’t reach, and I had to cut threads and cover it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fork oil was only slightly dirty. (The image shows partway through one leg.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s clean the back of the fender too.
Always with the customer’s feelings in mind, as if it were my own bike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I lubricated the seals and checked the bearings too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These flanged aluminum nuts are nice! M24-P1.5

I replaced the coolant.
Removing the cowl again left me puzzled\u2014I’m learning something new every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
