We’ll replace the clutch release cup.

It won’t improve dramatically, but the initial play can sometimes decrease.
Maybe the lag where the cup umbrella snaps and spreads out reduces? <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Can also be used for working out after caliper cleaning.
OK for caliper, master, and release OH too!

It works so smoothly that you think, “Wait, did I get better at caliper OH?”

It’s good to keep one in your toolbox. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Please do an OH on the caliper too if it’s like that.

When this master gets old…

\u2022 The touch doesn’t come back right away even after a fluid change
\u2022 The piston won’t come out even after cleaning and working the caliper

* It feels like the push is weak somehow. And then after a little time passes, wait, huh?

Maybe it’s just me… but this improves immediately when you replace it with a piston cup kit. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ordering from the motorcycle shop is a pain…

There are old and new versions, and it seems you judge by whether the hose comes out from the “top” or “side”. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The connector gets replaced too. Isn’t it surprisingly seized up sometimes?

Replace this too, apply CCI Metal Rubber MR20, <\/a>and assemble it so the joint spins smoothly and you’re good. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The hose we want to replace is the vent hose.

Just the vent hose costs over a thousand yen…

Well then, should we go black on the tank… but black hoses are sold separately.

Hmm, so we went with a standard tank set. If you think of it as including the diaphragm, it’s pretty reasonable. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Even comparing old and new, it doesn’t look that bad. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I always check the length, diameter, and shape carefully before assembling. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Before assembling, I completely dry it in the oven before putting the brake parts together.
* No need to get it super hot. Just drying the cleaning is OK. I’m worried even with just air blowing, so <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

That’s how I put it back together. The touch comes right back and feels good.

If you change the fluid or clean the caliper and think “wait, something’s off?”, I think it’s worth doing an OH. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I also changed the rear fluid.

I want to finish the rest too, but…

I’ve got a mild case of lumbago, and when I stand up or sit down
it’s “ouch, ouch, ouch…”
