With everyone staying home and the snow, things are pretty quiet around here.

The downtown area has an end-of-century vibe to it… Maybe I shouldn’t have come out in the snow after all?

Will I be able to get home? Will I make it to the inspection tomorrow? This is one fidgety tune job. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We’ll clean the calipers. When you switch a Nissin caliper to aluminum pistons, the operation becomes very smooth. With direct mounting, you don’t even need Brembo\u2014very good. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This pad spring that was installed is excellent.

Of course it holds the pads in the vertical direction,

but when you look closely, it’s shaped like an inverted V on both sides, gently pushing the pads toward the caliper piston as well\u2014this should reduce squeaking and rattling sounds.

You basically want pad springs on a street bike.

Rattling noise is annoying\u2014the caliper and pins get beaten up\u2014so things wear out a bit faster.

Plus, since this isn’t a pad spring plate,
\u2022 dust doesn’t accumulate
\u2022 pad wear is easier to check

I cleaned the rear caliper too. It also has aluminum pistons, so operation is smooth. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I replaced the brake fluid. *The rear was already replaced yesterday when I did the master OH. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I also replaced the spark plug as requested.
It’s wet with gasoline because I pulled the choke and started it the other day, then shut it off partway through. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

There was a question about occasional oil leaks. It is wet, but currently it’s unclear.

Basically, oil doesn’t come out of the secondary air system, so rest assured.

There’s a hole below the exhaust port that connects to the spark plug hole.

I thought that might be it at first, but it wasn’t… <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I’ll replace all the bolts with steel ones. Then I’ll apply thread compound properly and assemble. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I went with RK MEGA-MAX brake pads for their excellent balance of price and performance. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The request was to secure the STACK oil pressure gauge properly\u2014without making it too complicated.
We’re moving forward with the A+B+C plan. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Shrinking it slightly will prevent scratches. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
