As COVID-19 spreads, what on earth is happening to the world?

When you go shopping, don’t you notice how people avoid touching cards or money, keeping their distance from each other?

Everyone has become suspicious of everything.

If someone coughs or sneezes, you get that glare\u2014”(\u03a6\u03c9\u03a6)”

I understand, but it’s tough, isn’t it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Japanese cleanliness standards are definitely going to intensify even more.

Renting a motorcycle\u2014

renting a bicycle\u2014

renting a car\u2014

car sharing\u2014

staying at a hotel or inn\u2014

eating out at a crowded restaurant\u2014

using public transportation\u2014

and so on… there’s even a 1% chance of something weird, right?
What if I get infected?


The scary part is
we don’t know what happens if you get infected.

After infection, it’s mostly… well.


I think a lot of it is hidden in the dark. *I could go on forever about this, but\u2014

Now,
motorcycles as a hobby are really something special.

I really feel it when something like this happens.


It was the same during the Great East Japan Earthquake. That March 11, 2011…

It shook so hard, but the shop was fine…

The very next day, convenience stores were completely empty. *Oddly, there was spicy ramen?
Gas stations had long lines of cars.


I thought, there’s no way anyone would be riding a motorcycle at a time like this!

It happened to be the year our previous shop (along Route 7 in Hongo-kucho, Meguro Ward) was up for renewal.

I submitted the shop closure notice without telling any customers or anyone else.
*With uncertain prospects, my judgment was quick? It turned out okay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But at times like this, I really think motorcycles are amazing.

\u2022 Even in traffic, you can push through and move pretty well. You can be nimble.
\u2022 It’s fine even if public transportation isn’t running.
\u2022 The fuel economy is pretty decent, maybe.
\u2022 You can carry two people at most. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you take good care of it, this iron horse might even outlive its owner. Isn’t that wonderful? Anyway… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even at times like this, since it’s basically a solo activity,
you can just ride out on your own, grab some food at a convenience store,
and eat in the dining area.

Or you could go camping and just space out\u2014that might be nice too.
Yeah, it could be fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even in difficult times, we need fun things to refresh our spirits.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don’t have to spend money recklessly\u2014just cruising around the neighborhood is fun.

Thinking about maintenance work you want to do is fun.

Pondering custom parts you want is fun.

Washing and doing DIY is fun.

Taking photos and getting likes on Instagram is nice?


It’s an incredibly dangerous hobby, but I can understand why everyone is so fascinated and keeps coming back to it.

In the quiet Tokyo, I suddenly thought about it (\u03a6\u03c9\u03a6) meow~
