The parts arrived, so we got partway through\u2014

Basically, the piston and seal set is a good deal.

Since it’s not a part you disassemble that often, it’s nice to get a fresh piston too. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Always inspect the seals. Once I actually got a wrong seal in the package.

Since it was already opened, I couldn’t return it\u2014had to buy another one. It’s a subtle pain. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It’s tedious, but a thorough cleaning gives you peace of mind. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I usually brush it on, but while organizing I found some new, unopened deadstock, so I’m using that.

It goes in so smoothly\u2014”click!”\u2014you’d think my caliper OH skills had improved! <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Apply it generously in the grooves and on the seals before assembly, and the operation becomes really smooth.

Grease-based products degrade over time, so I don’t use them much. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Clean small parts feel good too. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For a matte black caliper,
AZ (A-Z) C1-009 Long-Term Rust Prevention Spray Super Lube 420ml, Salt Spray Test 96 Hours Grade A<\/a> spray and wipe off gives a nice finish.

It also boosts rust protection. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Even the small details got Gun Coat and tightened up!

It feels good to assemble when everything is clean.
