Front fork cleaning. If you apply rust preventative and wipe the area between the top and stem, I think it will resist rust.

For the stroke area, I apply fork oil, remove debris, and wipe it clean.

Just occasional cleaning can help reduce vertical scratches and wear a bit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I cleaned the calipers. The return felt a bit sluggish.

Regarding pad grease, if you’re feeling the effect, that’s a plus.

However, if you’re using it as a precaution, it’s not so great.

The area around the caliper piston becomes quite greasy, which means dusty.
Grease also accumulates in the piston’s inner grooves, making cleaning difficult.

It might be good to choose carefully and use selectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lever and pedal had plenty of grease applied. I cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled them.

It’s best to replace lock nuts with new ones whenever possible for peace of mind.

This battery charger is wonderful! You can check the current battery level, which is incredibly helpful.

Today the S1000XR’s battery died suddenly after an oil change and I panicked, but… checking the level with this charger showed it was barely hanging on. Very grateful for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
