When I haven’t posted to the blog or social media for a few days, the sense of being out of touch is overwhelming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every now and then I suddenly lose interest and think, “I shouldn’t be doing this kind of thing.” *I’m not sure if it’s boredom or impatience… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a steering damper under the chin, the hose layout is tricky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somehow we managed to clear it. Great! <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I had a feeling it might touch on all sides… A single bent plate wouldn’t work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plate to spacer to spacer\u2014we achieved a delicate layout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I gave it a gun coat. Matte black really is sneaky good-looking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other day I noticed the rear brake switch looks visible when it’s hydraulic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The request was to ditch the Craftsman and go with some kind of black hydraulic switch instead.
That might summon the ghost of waste, though. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

True, when you look from above, it really does look like a stick. So here’s a great idea:

By using this, you can route it at an angle\u2014a handy gadget.
*Originally it’s for using a radial master with OEM hose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this, both the hose and hydraulic switch can point downward, so it should look clean and neat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make the hydraulic switch engage more reliably, it’s good to drill a hole at the switch position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I set the caliper side to rise at 70 degrees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bending is the fitting’s job. A layout that doesn’t stress the hose is best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got a report that the rear wasn’t working well, so I swapped in sintered metal pads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I set the gap to about this much. Any more and it gets pretty creaky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The request was to remove this unused stay.

Cutting is quick, but removing the parts, masking, and grinding takes time… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now I cut it and smoothed it out. I worked it a bit more and touched it up with a marker pen.
Next is breather hose installation and an oil change to finish.
