Brake fluid is hygroscopic\u2014it readily absorbs moisture from the air\u2014so ideally you’d want to swap it out every year if you ride, or at least every two years if you don’t. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We’re exchanging the coolant. It rises from room temperature to nearly 100 degrees and circulates through the engine.
In the city you won’t get freezing, but considering the riding conditions, I’d want to change it every two years.

By draining and checking, you can also spot engine oil mixing in or notice any blow-by inside the engine. Fluids really are important. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The headlight was dim, so I thought about adding a direct-battery relay and peeked under the seat.
The wiring is fantastic.
The previous owner? A bike shop? You can tell when you take it apart. You get this feeling: “Ah, this was really well cared for.”
