GSX-S1000 inspection, self-point maintenance, fork oil change, and fenderless installation request.
Suzuki really does blue well\u2014what a great color. The face looks like a rare B-KING. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We went ahead and swapped out the fenderless.
I had the impression that aftermarket fenderless kits were generally difficult to install and not very good, but this one went on surprisingly smoothly. Glad it worked out.

Bare aluminum with sharp bends and rigid construction will crack once you reach a certain point, so it’s best to check carefully.
But how much durability should motorcycle parts really have? Home appliances are lucky to last a year.
Decades of use? That doesn’t match the price or build quality…
Deep darkness… the adult world is harsh? Personal responsibility? Who’s to blame?

The reservoir was down a bit. As long as there’s no leak, we’re good. Just top it off. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We sucked out the old fluid and put in fresh stuff. If you mark where you filled it to last time, it’s easier to verify.
The seal inside the radiator is pretty loose, so don’t get too neurotic about it or you’ll drive yourself crazy\u2014just be careful.

The radiator cap still has good elasticity\u2014in great shape, so we reused it. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lubricated the clutch lever and cable. The NC100 was pretty dark too. Good timing for this.
If you also lubricate the adjustment dial, the feel when adjusting is nicer. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Cleaned and lubricated the throttle and cable. This one was in nice condition. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The cable had no kinks and felt great. That’s what you’d expect from a newer bike. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The caliper was a bit dusty. It came with aluminum pistons from the factory. I wonder if I could use them for something? I’d like to know the diameter and width. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After cleaning, spray on some rust-preventive oil and polish the body\u2014it stays cleaner and looks nicer.
For split calipers and such, bolts can corrode and seize, so this is a good preventive measure. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The rear caliper was in great condition and smooth. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We replaced the air filter <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

and replaced the spark plugs. It came with iridium plugs from the factory. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The fork oil was clean. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

When we took it apart before, we added another hole, and that turned out to be the right call. The existing hole position was pretty tight. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After that, we pulled a vacuum, bled the air, adjusted the oil level, and we’re done. Suzuki’s Z1000. If I put an Impulse 400 fairing on it with the nose lowered, it’d look pretty sketchy.

My ideas… probably won’t appeal to most people either… (\u00b4\u30fc`)\u3075\u3045…
