The fuse is in the middle of the orange wire in the image. Let’s say the right side of the fuse is battery positive.
\u00b7If there’s a short on the left side of the fuse, it cuts off.
\u00b7If it’s on the right side of the fuse, it’ll spark until the battery is dead. (Fire hazard possible)

This is common with product-included wiring, but it might be “to protect the product” and not “to protect the installation vehicle,” so please be careful.
