\nGSX1100SR inspection with fork oil change, stem lubrication, and other maintenance services.<\/p>\n

\nThe customer asked about doing a full overhaul on the forks and stem, but since the bike hasn’t racked up that many miles, it would be wasteful. So we went with fork oil change and stem lubrication instead.<\/p>\n

\nThe fork oil was clean. We filled it with Newtech synthetic fork oil in the original spec set.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe cycled the forks, pulled a vacuum, and then adjusted the oil level.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe checked how the original tuning felt, whether anything had loosened up, and so on before disassembling.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\"
\nThere was some grease loss, but the condition was good overall.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nInside the pipes and around the oil cooler, there’s surprisingly a lot of oily grease buildup. A thorough cleaning makes everything feel better.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nWe used Newtech NC100 grease, which is a bit softer than the spec and works smoothly. Even when the frame gets hot, it doesn’t drip easily, which means better bearing life.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nThe oil cooler core guard was vibrating quite a bit, and when we looked closely, it was cracked. The mounting points seem a bit weak.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe wondered if maybe just this bracket was sold separately, but replacing it wouldn’t solve the problem anyway, so we came up with a fix.<\/p>\n

\nRemoving the rivets at the base is a bit tedious, so we reinforced it with a patch and spot welding instead.<\/p>\n

\nWe cleaned and lubricated the speedometer cable and gears. Friction might have dropped by 0.01 percent or so.<\/p>\n

\nThe axle shaft is in good shape.<\/p>\n

\nThe wheel bearings look good. Recommended replacement interval is around 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers.<\/p>\n

\nWe cleaned all three calipers, lubricated them, and applied rust preventative.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted the chain.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nThe fluid was clean. We replaced it with Golden Cruiser DOT4.<\/p>\n

\nWe applied thread compound generously to the exhaust pipe bolts and replaced them with new ones.<\/p>\n

\nThe original plug is a DR8EA, but we switched to a JR8B, which has the same dimensions and function and is used in oil-cooled models.<\/p>\n

\nWe synchronized the carburetors.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe cleaned the brake discs and then applied the brakes firmly to seat them properly.<\/p>\n

\nWe replaced all the exterior grommets.<\/p>\n
