\nThis is a photo of the ceiling. If the bottom is rough, the ceiling will be too.
\nKeep in mind that if you don’t clean the ceiling, you can’t clean the floor!<\/p>\n

\nSince it would be a hassle, I’ve mostly made blind plugs. We’ll cap the sensor and petcock and ship it.<\/p>\n

\nTime passes… The tank came back from rust removal and coating. I’ll inspect it and let it dry for a few days before assembly.<\/p>\n

\nThe back of the tank. This is the perfect chance! If you wax it well, it’ll feel subtly nice.<\/p>\n

\nThe surface was a bit rough, so I spent nearly twenty minutes getting friendly with an oil stone.<\/p>\n

\nFor reference, there’s no OEM petcock O-ring setting, so we’ll use an alternative.
\n44348-28070 works perfectly.<\/p>\n

\nThe owner prepared the tank molding.
\nBut this wasn’t the best choice. Since it’d be wasteful, let’s use it for now.<\/p>\n

I’d recommend a type with metal inside the molding that grips firmly. I’ll let you know more about that soon.<\/p>\n

\nWhile we’re replacing the throttle cable, let’s clean the throttle body too.<\/p>\n

\nThe more I look at it, the more concerning it seems. (I fixed it though.)<\/p>\n

\nThis looks temporary too, so I’ve ordered an OEM replacement.<\/p>\n
