Vehicle: <\/strong> Kawasaki KZ900 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symptom: <\/strong> Oil leaking from the left side of the engine (below the generator cover). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cause: <\/strong> Due to age-related deterioration, the rubber grommet on the stator coil wiring <\/strong> hardened and shrank, creating gaps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work: <\/strong> Removed the cover, thoroughly degreased and cleaned the grommet area, and resealed it with oil-resistant liquid gasket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Result: <\/strong> Leak and seepage completely stopped. This is standard maintenance for Z-series bikes. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I think the probability of it happening is not zero.
Fatigue fractures from aging could definitely occur.

These bikes have exceeded the manufacturer’s imagination in terms of years of use.
Anything could go wrong, and I’d rather avoid such troubles.

There was an unbelievable amount of liquid gasket applied…
I hate removing double-sided tape and liquid gasket. *Does anyone actually like it?

Plus, scraping inside grooves with a flathead is tedious and inefficient.
The Nakanishi micro rotary tool has a 3mm shaft, so I found a case that fit perfectly.
The work was done in no time and I’m satisfied. This really helps in situations like this.
