\nThe storage compartment is very small, so we wanted to gain a bit more space.
\nThe hassle is having to insert and remove the card every time the key is turned.<\/p>\n

After much deliberation, we decided to mount it on the left side by process of elimination. It’s best to align it with the direction of the side stand.<\/p>\n

\nFirst and foremost, it must not fall off. We strip the threads near the base and leave them free.<\/p>\n

\nWe tap threads into the mounting plate.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nBy threading it through this way, we add one layer of insurance.<\/p>\n

\nWe re-lock it with a weld nut and lock nut. This way it won’t loosen or come off.<\/p>\n

\nWe set it so it only opens enough to insert and remove the card.
\nThe opening and closing action uses friction damping. Without a stopper, if it swings open toward the swingarm and makes contact, that would be a problem. Better safe than sorry.<\/p>\n

\nBeing the worrier I am, I’m still nervous, so we secure it with a band to prevent it from opening.<\/p>\n

\nThat’s how it turned out. One point is co-torqued to the frame on both sides, plus secured with cable ties.<\/p>\n

\nStill nervous, so we verified with a ruler. I don’t think it will make contact.<\/p>\n

This should make inserting and removing it much easier. (Though it might get dirty from chain oil.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
