\nRVF400\u2014looking back now, I wish I hadn’t sold it. I think it’s a size that fits the Japanese body frame perfectly.<\/p>\n

Inspection, carburettor maintenance, chain and sprocket replacement, and spark plug replacement were requested.<\/p>\n

\nThe old chain and sprocket\u2014quite the veteran. The wear was moderate.<\/p>\n

\nDID Gold plus Sunstar is the proven combo. Always replace the lock nuts.<\/p>\n

\nRaise the side stand and it goes “clang!” I bent an SS400 into an L shape and tack-welded it to avoid contact\u2014gently with the foot, which seems like wasted motion. You can also remove the stopper entirely.<\/p>\n

\nThat’s how it turned out. Next:<\/p>\n

\nThe failure case. If you go about it too carelessly, you’ll usually fail.<\/p>\n

\nI pushed the clearance too hard and it wouldn’t fit\u2014turned into scrap.
\nTime to reset my approach:<\/p>\n

\nA two-piece design that won’t fail. It’s not HL, but it is SUS304 stainless\u2014rest assured.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nIt goes in from the top, so it’s very convenient. As for waterproofing\u2014I’ll need to study that further.<\/p>\n

\nProbably overcharged. Corrosion has set in and the bolts won’t budge anymore\u2014if I go full power, the terminal might snap off. I’ve lubricated it well, so I’m counting on good results going forward.<\/p>\n

\nThe reservoir return line was severely degraded. I cut it and shortened it. Going forward, the coolant lines should be replaced if parts become available.<\/p>\n

\nAfter topping up the coolant, I marked it so it can be erased. Being able to see changes will be better for the future.<\/p>\n

\nI replaced the air filter too.<\/p>\n

Spark plugs have been replaced as well. The front bank number four\u2014it’s so tedious I’d like to make a special tool for it.<\/p>\n
