I’ve been slacking off lately. With so many worries, good and bad, it’s hard to stay on top of things.
\nTime to get my mind, skills, and body in order! Here we go\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\" A Zephyr 1100 inspection and oil cooler replacement job came in.<\/p>\n

\nSince this is just a swap, it’s quick work.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nUsing stainless steel mesh hose bare can easily scratch surrounding parts.
\nOver time it gets dirty and clogged, looking shabby, so I wrapped it with mesh to protect it.<\/p>\n

\nHmm? This adapter has way too much freedom. I got worried about whether the oil passage would be okay.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nI checked the inner diameter<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nUsing scrap material, I figured that maintaining the passage this way and assembling it would give me peace of mind.
\nI’m hoping the cooling will improve too.<\/p>\n

\nI inserted it and tightened it down\u2014done.<\/p>\n

\nThe nice Moriwaki duct won’t fit up front\u2014it contacts the brake hose. I had to find a way around it.<\/p>\n

\nI stamped it out with a die, bang bang bang. It really drives home how important the right tools are.
\nNow the duct clears.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nMy worry level runs pretty high. Full stroke ending in a snap\u2014that’s the worst-case scenario. I do my best to avoid it.<\/p>\n

\nI’m guessing it’s probably a 120 mm stroke these days, so I’m working with that assumption.
\nThe hose was rubbing on the stabilizer, and worse, it was loosening\u2014super dangerous. I’m glad I caught it.<\/p>\n

* Bolt-on parts\u2014assume they’ll fit reasonably well. But actually, bolt-on parts often have less flexibility than you’d think.<\/p>\n

\nThe fender looks fine too, so I’m relieved.<\/p>\n

It looks simple when you see it done\u2026 but I’m just glad it all went on without a hitch. Complete!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
