\nRecently, we brought in an imported manual tire changer.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ve improved various aspects of its usability. We can’t go back to the lever now.
\nFor a shop like ours that does fewer tire changes, it’s more than sufficient.<\/p>\n

\nThis time we switched to Pirelli Sport Demon. Even though it’s bias-ply, it has very little runout. The handling and vibration are minimal\u2014it should be great.
\nThe rounded profile isn’t too round or too sharp, so it’s a fun tire to ride.<\/p>\n

\nThe front inner surface inevitably wears down\u2014that’s the nature of forks.
\nEspecially with inverted forks, you can’t rotate the inner tube, so it gets particularly bad.
\nFor aggressive riders, the plating can peel off after just 20,000 kilometers\u2026<\/p>\n

When it gets shiny, the seal bears down hard, and various things start to wear. Gently working it in the lateral direction (not the stroke direction) with a soft Scotch-Brite pad helps both the seal and the inner tube feel good.<\/p>\n

\nThe secret to longevity might be keeping that polished shine from when it’s new, rather than a mirror polish.
\nOf course, lubricate it well with fork oil and wipe it down.<\/p>\n

\nWe’ll clean all three calipers.<\/p>\n

\nAfter washing, applying rust preventative keeps everything moving smoothly and the body in good condition. The key to everything is preventing rust.<\/p>\n

\nWhen you check the brake fittings and apply rust preventative at times like this, everything stays in great shape forever.<\/p>\n

\nFront is Golden Cruiser DOT<\/p>\n

\nRear is Harley OEM, so<\/p>\n

\nwe swapped it with silicone DOT5.<\/p>\n
