Motorcycle inspection guide.
\nThis time we’re providing information about dimensions, markings, compliance and non-compliance.<\/p>\n

In recent years, inspections have become stricter (or perhaps it’s become the standard?), and there are indeed some vehicles we simply cannot accommodate.
\nI’ll give you examples of compliant and non-compliant items, so please check your own vehicle.
\n* Sadly, parts that people bought and installed with good intentions often end up being non-compliant.<\/p>\n

\u3010Important Notice\u3011
\nWe cannot accept motorcycles with major modifications or severe damage for inspection. Such vehicles require repairs to meet safety standards before inspection.
\nAdditional charges will apply in the following cases:
\n\u2022 When critical components are worn and require replacement
\n\u2022 When bodywork, mufflers, or other parts need to be removed or modified
\n\u2022 When illegal modifications need to be corrected to meet inspection standards<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Dimensions are width\/height\/length
\nWidth is usually the most frequently checked.
\nBasically, the distance from lever to lever is the widest measurement. (It’s easier to understand if you compare it to bar-end to bar-end.)<\/p>\n

Width \u00b12 cm, length \u00b13 cm, height \u00b14 cm are the limits.
\nIf you replace the handlebar and move the lever position, it’s almost certainly non-compliant. Check carefully.<\/p>\n

\nLength\u2014an often-overlooked detail<\/p>\n

Since length is limited to \u00b13 cm, installing a touring bag rack will almost certainly make it non-compliant.<\/p>\n

Handlebar switch markings<\/p>\n

If the markings are faded or invisible, it’s non-compliant. I haven’t checked, but I suspect items with markings removed or altered are also non-compliant. (Needs verification)<\/p>\n

Headlight ON\/OFF
\nFor models produced after April 1998, if the headlight is not always on, it’s non-compliant.<\/p>\n

Main key markings<\/p>\n

Of course, if the markings are faded or invisible, it’s non-compliant.<\/p>\n

Shift pattern<\/p>\n

Depending on the inspector’s judgment, you may be told “handwriting is not allowed.” Always have it made with a label maker and affixed properly.<\/p>\n

JWL<\/p>\n

Stamped, laser, or punch markings must be permanently applied to the wheel itself (not the hub, etc.).<\/p>\n

Indicator lamps<\/p>\n

“High beam = blue, turn signal = orange (yellow), neutral = green”\u2014removing any existing indicator is non-compliant.<\/p>\n

Of course, if even one is burned out, it’s non-compliant.<\/p>\n

Meter backlight<\/p>\n

This is almost never checked, but if even one bulb is burned out or not illuminating, it’s non-compliant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
