It&#8217;s a telltale sign, in a way.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47515\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1700979.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nThe regulator was already replaced a while back. I measured the generator AC side with the engine running: 1-2, 1-3, 2-3. It only rose about 20V. The resistance was around 0.4\u03a9 to 0.5\u03a9.<\/p>\n<p>I concluded it&#8217;s the generator stator.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47516\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1700980.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s already in charred coffee condition, but there&#8217;s no particular continuity failure.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1700981.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nThere was no magnet separation, so that&#8217;s reassuring. It&#8217;s a very simple charging system, so it&#8217;s easy to understand.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1710034.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nTime passes, and getting a new one is nice. It&#8217;s so jet black you&#8217;d think it&#8217;s a different part.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47519\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1710035.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nInstalled it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1710036.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nChecked that nothing was loose.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/P1710037.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"855\"><br \/>\nMeasured A-B, A-C, B-C. Confirmed all readings up to 70V AC. Pretty impressive.<br \/>\nThe resistance was about the same at 0.4\u03a9.<\/p>\n<p>All done!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I definitely noticed the headlight was dim during the inspection.
