Caliper seals are rubber-based after all, so they do harden. When caliper piston operation is poor (bad feel), we spend time cleaning and working it out. If that work takes as much time as a caliper OH, I’d recommend the OH. I think the effect and duration are both superior.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s confirm it visually.<\/p>\n

\nSame on the upper side. This model year doesn’t have relief machining on the frame side, so we feel some resistance.<\/p>\n

\nWe grind away and break it in. The frame doesn’t wear and handling isn’t compromised.<\/p>\n

\nWe add NC100 grease and assemble.<\/p>\n

\nAdjustment feel varies from person to person. If it works well, you have to crush the oil seal firmly at the start or it’ll develop sloppy steering right away.
\nLight is not the same as loose, so we proceed carefully.<\/p>\n

\nWe replaced the front wheel bearings.<\/p>\n
