\nWe’ll start working from the rear. It comes apart in no time.<\/p>\n

\nBikes from this era are truly wonderful. It’s probably never been opened, yet there’s plenty of grease and no corrosion. The GS and Inazuma are sad by comparison.<\/p>\n

\nThat’s reassuring.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"
\nWe’ll make some corrections while keeping in mind the somewhat rushed workmanship of the era.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nIt’s probably better to avoid sliding hammers if you can. Heating it up and pulling it out with a puller is the smart way. By the way, there’s also a method to pull it out more easily and quickly than a puller.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nOn the link arm side, we heat it up and use bolt force to remove it.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWhile we’re working on the swingarm, we put the pivot in the oven. If we can pick it up about when the swingarm is done coming out, we save time.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nBefore assembly, we check the pivot width, install it, and we’re done.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"
\nWe’ll do an overhaul on the rear caliper. The condition was quite good.<\/p>\n

\nWe polish the corroded areas and prepare for assembly.<\/p>\n

\nThe bolts from the later Bandit series look better.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nA piston seal kit is the way to go. Always inspect it.
\n* In the past, different seals have gotten mixed in. The only thing you can trust is your own eyes.<\/p>\n

\nUsing the newer clip improves serviceability (though it doesn’t matter to the customer).<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nCCI metal rubber. Fluid is also CCI Golden Cruiser. A trusted brand.<\/p>\n

\nReplace the nipple during overhaul.<\/p>\n
