\nFirst, we’ll clean the calipers on both sides. Brembo’s cast calipers tend to accumulate dust easily and show dirt readily.<\/p>\n

\nWhen removing the calipers, checking the brake fittings gives you peace of mind\u2014confidence goes way up.<\/p>\n

It rarely happens, but unless it breaks clean off, the hydraulic pressure won’t drain all at once. We check for cracks and such. This bend mark was something we wanted to report.<\/p>\n

\nBelow the under-bracket, we lubricate with fork oil and clean. It’s good to feel by hand whether rust is rough and bumpy.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nBetween the top and under sections, apply rust-preventive oil to guard against corrosion.
\nJust apply and wipe off\u2014that’s enough to resist rust really well.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nWe also cleaned the chain and performed lubrication and adjustment.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nSteering operation check. Wiring and cables around the handlebar can rub and cause problems, so it’s good to check those too.<\/p>\n

\nRemove the throttle, clean it, and apply lubricant.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nClutch release lubrication. The condition looks good.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nIf the drive sprocket nut loosens, you’ll sometimes hear a clicking sound when you spin the rear wheel. Sure enough, it was loose, so we replaced it.<\/p>\n

\nUsing new lock nuts and washers whenever possible makes a real difference in peace of mind.
\n\u2022 Bend the lock washer as flush as possible
\n\u2022 Bend the lock washer in two places
\nSurprisingly, this works perfectly.<\/p>\n

The clutch lock nut and drive sprocket nut around the countershaft experience repeated power on\/off cycles, so they tend to loosen easily. It’s good to physically lock them without damaging the shaft so they stay secure.<\/p>\n

\nWe adjusted the synchronization<\/p>\n

\nand cleaned the air filter to complete the work.<\/p>\n
