It took nearly an hour to remove it all from both the engine side and the head cover side.<\/p>\n<p>Unless there&#8217;s some defect (like a crack or an uneven surface from repairs), applying sealant doesn&#8217;t really provide much insurance against leaks, so I think it&#8217;s better not to use it.<\/p>\n<p>A leak means the head cover gasket has reached the end of its life, so just replace it when that happens.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48545\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/P1690863.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nThe head cover side is recessed and the gasket side is raised. You can install it as-is without applying anything. From my experience, on the 750, 1100, and 1200, if you just place the gasket and go nice and easy, it won&#8217;t come off.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s go the additive-free route!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GS1200SS-12 Replica.
