But just installing things alone won’t give it character or improve usability. We’ll do our best with the limited knowledge we have.<\/p>\n

\nFirst, where should we mount it? When I’m unsure, I ask myself: “How would it look cool on my bike? How would it be most convenient?” After that, I try to avoid modifying the frame as much as possible.<\/p>\n

It’s better not to lay out parts along the maintenance workflow.
\nThe number of parts to remove increases, and it prevents trouble like incorrect installation if another shop does the work.<\/p>\n

I love the slide-type design. I thought it would be nice if we could insert and remove the card from outside without removing the seat.<\/p>\n

\nIt uses friction and detent ball fixing. It’s a bit stiff and the detent ball is fairly high, so it shouldn’t fall out easily. *Please keep the card facing up.<\/p>\n

Flip it up and it snaps into storage. I’m pretty satisfied with how it turned out.<\/p>\n

\nWith motorcycles, you want the handlebar area to be clean and tidy.
\nLately, my shortcuts\u2014or clever ideas?\u2014for custom work just keep coming. We’re using a super easy method: hose clamps plus spot-welded plates. The plates have ribs to resist bending.<\/p>\n

\nThe Progre Marten is currently out of stock. GSXR-series meter areas surprisingly have little mounting space.
\nThe LCD can be hard to read depending on the angle, and I want to avoid sticking it on the top bridge if possible. Maintenance access is poor too.<\/p>\n

I forgot to take photos during fabrication, but it’s a tedious build. We need to make an S-curve over a short distance, so I made two SUS304 90-degree bends, cut them, and welded them with short pitch.<\/p>\n

I made one end longer, bent it into an L-shape, and welded it to the back of the plate. This creates a bracket that’s strong in both push and pull.<\/p>\n

\nThe license plate area looks clunky. Maybe the stock license plate light is part of the problem?
\nBut the factory mud guard is really the best. As an old guy like me, I get excited about the stock rear fender.<\/p>\n

We raised the back and went plate-to-plate for a pretty refined layout.<\/p>\n

\nThe image is dark… but I love Evotech. The quality and elegance are fantastic.<\/p>\n

\nThe reflector is Daytona. I did a light hidden knurl in the center and we’re done.

I think adding character while keeping changes subtle and inspection-legal is the mature approach.<\/p>\n

We took it for a test ride today and it’s complete.<\/p>\n
