There&#8217;s no continuity even when the brake is applied, so it&#8217;s a switch failure\u2014replacement needed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48994\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690386.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nThe turn signals are hyperflashing. The relay appears to be standard, so let&#8217;s check the bulbs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48995\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690384.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48996\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690385.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nThe bulb is melted from heat. We should replace it going forward.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out the rear was set up as a position light from the time of purchase. A 21\/5W bulb with the 21W side used as the position light\u2014that&#8217;s why it melts from heat.<\/p>\n<p>The position light was unwanted, so the wire was disconnected and removed\u2014leaving only the 5W light on, which causes hyperflashing. That&#8217;s what was happening.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48997\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690387.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nThe headlight low beam won&#8217;t come on.<\/p>\n<p>We can trace it from downstream or upstream.<br \/>\nThe fuse\u2014the first thing everyone checks\u2014seems fine.<br \/>\n\u2193<br \/>\n(Furthest downstream) Check if 12V is actually reaching the headlight connector.<\/p>\n<p>\u2193<br \/>\nAfter that, just trace the circuit from the fuse onward.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48998\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690389.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nHigh and low beams share the same circuit. Power reaches the left switch connector and dimmer switch, but when we removed the switch, the solder joint had cracked.<\/p>\n<p>These things do happen. It&#8217;s educational and really helpful to learn.<br \/>\n\u2014A side note on inspection topics: when you need a bit more light output, the high beam circuit actually produces higher brightness in terms of the circuit layout. (High beams typically have a different circuit layout.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decoboco.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/P1690391.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><br \/>\nAfter soldering, it&#8217;s always better to clean it up.<\/p>\n<p>Flux cleaner is absolutely essential.
