\nAdding this is supposed to help prevent the carburettor from clogging (corrosion prevention). Since nobody’s had a clog, I can’t tell if it’s working or not\u2026<\/p>\n

\nLift the dust seal, lubricate with fork oil, work it back and forth to remove debris, and wipe thoroughly. You can also check for rust.<\/p>\n

\nBetween the top and bottom, apply rust-preventive oil to your hand, spread it, and wipe it off for some corrosion protection.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nYou can do it from the outside too, but occasionally remove the lever and give it a good cleaning and lubrication.<\/p>\n

\nLock nuts should be replaced every two or three services.<\/p>\n

\"\"
\nSame goes for the brake lever. Smooth engagement and return feel great.<\/p>\n

\nThe handlebar rusts surprisingly easily. Just spread it like body oil on skin.
\nIt won’t cause friction and provides good corrosion protection.<\/p>\n

\nRemove the side stand while you’re at it. Getting on and off should be smoother.<\/p>\n

\nShift side pedal. It’s in pretty sharp condition.<\/p>\n

\nI was curious and removed it, and\u2026 it’s not engaging at all! That’s scary.<\/p>\n

\nThe rust is bad too, so we’ll replace it.<\/p>\n

\nThe fluid was clean. (We’ll replace it after this.)<\/p>\n

\nReplace the coolant and the radiator cap is getting sketchy too, so we’ll replace that as well.<\/p>\n

\nThere’s a bit of shadow, but it looks pretty sooty. We ended up adding a replacement and carburettor maintenance.<\/p>\n

\nSurprisingly dirty. Probably the first time? But most people are doing it for the first time anyway\u2026<\/p>\n

\nWe’re replacing it, but we cleaned it anyway. Whether it actually helps\u2026 I’m not sure. It might just be a placebo effect.<\/p>\n

Cleaning the hole and contact surface makes the brakes stop working completely. So during the test ride I brake hard repeatedly. It’s like freshening up the disc and re-establishing contact.<\/p>\n

\nThe brake pedal shaft\u2026 the swing arm is in the way so it won’t come out. Annoying design.<\/p>\n

\nThe master is in the way, so when I loosened it\u2026 it broke. Extra work keeps piling up\u2026<\/p>\n

\nThen it gets even worse. First I tried to face off the broken bolt and extract it\u2026<\/p>\n

It ended up stripping, so we installed a helicoil for repair. I wonder how we’re going to tighten this banjo\u2026<\/p>\n
