This year I’m clarifying things and making sure to do the work properly, so I’ll introduce it to you properly. <\/div>\n

\nThey fly off quite a bit.
\nBlow off the welded nut with a milling machine \u2192 polish \u2192 punch out the fastener receiver to the right size with a press \u2192 tack weld \u2192 apply rust preventative. This is the bottom side that attaches to the frame.<\/p>\n

\nI’m not sure why the GSX-R has fastener holes already open in the undercowl, but I can’t find a receiver with the same pitch. *Maybe it uses an S-shaped receiver? Or maybe it’s a design choice? I’m not sure.<\/p>\n

Since an S-shaped design limits the options for neck length, I rejected it and went with this plate-type design where you can choose the neck length in 1 mm increments. So I’ll use the press punch to create a slot in the right image like the left one. I’ve already made the fixture, so it’s quick.<\/p>\n

\nChamfer the receiver escape to avoid putting stress on it<\/p>\n

\nFixed like this and we’re done. Normally the receiver itself would support it with a surface, but this is more than sufficient for secure fastening. Since it’s being fixed to plastic, I use gentle aluminum rivets for the body.<\/p>\n

\nThe other day when I polished the rear wheel hub, I also replaced the hub bearing. But it had to stop because there was no oil seal in stock.<\/p>\n

Suzuki’s wheel oil seal that doesn’t spin\u2014it’s unbelievably stiff. Honestly, it’s abnormal.
\nIf I assemble it as is, the wheel collar will wear down… I mean, unless you’re riding through muddy off-road terrain… or unless oil is seeping out from inside… it’s not right.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll rub it down with a whetstone until the collar doesn’t fall off too much. Just doing this alone improves the wheel spin a little.<\/p>\n

\nI should think about adding a clutch plate replacement menu.
\nNext is the main harness replacement.<\/p>\n
