\nThe original clear coat was air urethane. Since we’re near the ocean, it started to get moldy, so I repainted it with two-part urethane using a spray gun.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll oil the shift pedal side. The grease from last time is still there, which is reassuring.<\/p>\n

\nI thought it was nice that both sides come off with a snap ring.<\/p>\n

\nThe brake side looks good too.<\/p>\n

\nWhile the plate is off, I’ll spray some rust preventative oil and wipe it down to boost rust protection.
\nLet’s keep it in good shape for as long as possible.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll clean the rear caliper. It’s in pretty good condition, which I appreciate. The aluminum pistons are reassuring.<\/p>\n

\nAfter washing, I’ll spray rust preventative oil and wipe it down to maintain both rust protection and appearance.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll wash the pads with steam and dry them instantly. The pad thickness is still good.<\/p>\n

\nThe disc is getting grooved, so it might be time to replace it soon.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll clean both the left and right front calipers. The pistons are working smoothly. With aluminum pistons, there’s no rust at all.<\/p>\n

\nThere are three fluid tanks and the calipers are dual, so I replaced fluid at four locations.
\nThe fluid is CCI Golden Cruiser DOT4.<\/p>\n

\nI disassembled and cleaned the throttle sleeve. Let’s oil the accelerator cable too.<\/p>\n

\nI’ll apply a minimal oil film to the handlebar to help prevent wear on the handlebar side. I can’t recommend over-applying or using grease.<\/p>\n
