\nSince the owner can’t get to or work on the back side, we keep it clean too.<\/p>\n

\nThe axle shaft looks fine.<\/p>\n

\nLucky for the customer\u2014a brand new one that someone threw away the other day saying it didn’t fit.
\nSure enough, one side wasn’t 20 mm, so it wouldn’t go in. (Looks like there were two washers on the nut side.)<\/p>\n

I should have fixed it then, but instead I punched it out to 20 mm and gave it new life from the trash. I’ll give it to you.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s replace the hub damper too. Suzuki dampers are really tough.<\/p>\n

\nThe bearings look fine. The hub side was already missing some, so I added a bit more.<\/p>\n

\nThe caliper is in pretty rough shape, but it works surprisingly well.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s clean the disc too. It’s got serious step wear. For now, I’ll just make a note of it.<\/p>\n

\nTake the brake pedal area apart, clean it, and oil it\u2014suddenly it moves smoothly. That’s all it takes.<\/p>\n

\nThe stand mounting was loose. And then… well, thirty years of buildup.
\nSometimes I think about it differently. “Thirty years of neglect and that’s all the dirt?” “Thirty years of grime washes away in minutes with solvent\u2014no problem at all?” I stay positive and keep washing.<\/p>\n
