\nI’m not sure what it is, but when I say “The Gale Speed Master is great!” I get a somewhat “Hmph!” kind of response… or is it just my imagination?<\/p>\n

So let me explain the merits. First, the appearance is incredibly cool. Lightening holes are generous! The pin bolts are also stepped and hollow. The lever has a sleeve inside, so you can tighten it firmly with confidence.<\/p>\n

\nA minus dial. This allows you to change the lever ratio. You can adjust it from “soft to firm.” Plus it has a click feel, so there’s no worry about it moving.<\/p>\n

\nSimilar images, but… the lever dial is on the side. This is important.
\nRadial masters typically have the dial in the push direction. On fairing bikes, when you turn the handlebar fully, it can contact something.<\/p>\n

Despite being radial, it’s easy to install… and the dial has a better pin so it comes off immediately. With Brembo, you have to make a special auto punch and remove it every time.<\/p>\n

\nThe switch is 2,000 yen with no adjustment needed. It doesn’t matter if the lever is close or far. It’s designed to be user-friendly, just like an OEM part.<\/p>\n

\nHose diameter is also selectable. One circlip. The seal is an O-ring, so replacement is easy.<\/p>\n

\nHolders come in various types:<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Mirror normal or reverse
\n\u2022 Master tank stay<\/p>\n

Just bolting the master down with M10 or… co-tightening with the mirror… it’s a bit much.<\/p>\n

\nHinge with one bolt. Excellent serviceability.<\/p>\n

And there’s also a repair piston\/cup set available for 3,500 yen. OH is a breeze.
\nThe feel and touch are of course excellent.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s a matter of ratio. Masters are limited to 1mm increments. 16 won’t cut it, but 19 is too heavy. The push side and the pushed side. Clutch release is incredibly responsive.<\/p>\n
