\nOnce you remove the harness, it looks really clean and sharp. The GSXR1100 looks especially sleek around the M\/N generation.<\/p>\n

\nThe condition was so-so.<\/p>\n

\nA brand new harness is so soft you can’t help but be impressed. It feels like replacing your blood vessels, and you convince yourself it’s going to make a real difference! <\/div>\n

\nYou might think the main harness runs from head to tail, but most bikes have a spot where all the connectors bunch up. Starting there and routing from that point might actually be faster. <\/div>\n

After that, mark the thick branches so you don’t forget them. I don’t think the factory layout is the be-all and end-all. Some models are genuinely tight. It might be safer to avoid putting stress on the harness\u2014don’t kink it or pull it too hard. <\/div>\n

\nThis starter relay cover has been around since the early models. It’s a real pain to fit, so I just cut it out completely and secure everything with cable ties instead. <\/div>\n
Making it easier to disassemble in the future is also a good idea. <\/div>\n

\nI wasn’t sure if it was okay to weld to the case, so I secured it with cable ties instead. <\/div>\n
I installed a relay here for optional power. The fuse is a waterproof low-profile mini fuse rated at 10A. You can bump it up to 15A if needed. <\/div>\n

\nThe ground wire gets relocated from back to front.

That’s why. There’s not much benefit to tucking it away where your hand can’t reach. <\/div>\n

\nThe light won’t come on, so something’s wrong. That’s when I realized something was slightly different\u2014my own foolishness… <\/div>\n

\nAfter checking, it turns out to be a USA or Canada spec with daytime running lights. <\/div>\n
Suzuki rarely changes the harness… <\/div>\n

So what’s different? <\/div>\n
\u2022 The power routing from the fuse to the light, meter, position, and tail lights is different. <\/div>\n

Turning it on and off is simple enough, but I want to keep the harness as unmodified as possible and have the position, meter, and tail lights work in sync. <\/div>\n
