\nFirst, we’ll replace the engine damper. The wear was moderate.<\/p>\n

\nWe’re installing the later-model unit. Installation is easier. If you want to use an engine slider, the earlier version might be better.<\/p>\n

\nThe mounting bolts are shorter too, so maybe a slight weight savings.<\/p>\n

\nA good wipe with rust preventative oil will make it look nice again.<\/p>\n

If only the front engine hanger is tight, the engine won’t move much, but if you loosen the rear, it’ll tilt forward. This Inazuma did the same, so we loosened it, lifted it slightly, and aligned it so the bolts slide in smoothly\u2014that’s better for the long run. Avoid using brute force as much as possible.<\/p>\n

\nThe rod was bent, so we straightened it, but I’m a bit concerned\u2026<\/p>\n

\nWe found some stainless steel pipe with nearly the right bore, threaded it through, and welded it.
\nShould help a bit.<\/p>\n

\nWe also replace the generator damper. When this wears out, it gets pretty noisy at idle.<\/p>\n

\nWe polished the generator itself where we could.<\/p>\n

\nStarter motor O-ring replacement is also included in the oil-cooled maintenance.<\/p>\n

\nIt won’t come off again for a while. Might as well keep it clean.<\/p>\n

\nWe spray on rust preventative, wipe it down thoroughly, and clean and protect it.<\/p>\n
